Rem Koolhaas (Rotterdam,1944) studied architecture at the AA in London - where he went on to become a lecturer - and at the IAUS in New York, during Peter Eisenman's time there. Koolhaas has always been connected with the theory of architecture, as lecturer at the innovative AA, as a speaker, and with his published work: Delirious New York, a retrospective manifesto for Manhattan (1978) and the recent S, M, L, XL (1995).
